We are getting so close to our son! This past Thursday our last set of paperwork was dropped off at the Consulate in China. This paperwork takes two weeks to process, will be picked up again on April 24th, and then we will be officially waiting for our TRAVEL APPROVAL!!!!!! Travel Approvals are taking about 2 weeks to be processed, but of course there is a holiday at the beginning of May, so our Agency told us to expect to wait 3 weeks for our TA. Bummer! I am secretly praying that China decides to move paperwork out FAST before the holiday which would mean we could get our TA before the holiday! :)
This week we got an update on our sweet boy! We learned that he loves to play with cars and play outside (sounds like he'll fit right in, right!?!?!), he likes strong-flavored foods (yikes!), is walking, and does not require a lot of sleep! :) We also got his current measurements which means that we can finally buy the kids some clothes! Here is the picture we got of our sweet little dude:
It is so very, very, very exciting to be at this point! There were days where we truly felt like we would never get to this point in our journey to Asher. Now that we are so close though I am realizing how much we have left to do before he comes home! The poor kid doesn't even have a bedroom yet, although we do have his furniture now so at least he'll have a place to sleep! :)
Being at this point also means that we are nearing the end of our fundraising. Our Country Program Fee is due to our Agency at the end of this week, and our travel expenses will be due before we know it! :) Our puzzle fundraiser is still going on and we would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to sell all the pieces to complete our puzzle! Any amount that we raise now will be such a blessing as we will also be going to the bank this week to take out a loan for the rest of our adoption expenses. We have been blessed beyond what we ever imagined, and there are not enough words to show our gratitude to each one of you that has helped in getting us this far!!! We trust that God will provide what we need to bring Asher home. We have questions every day as to how this will all work out, but we trust in God's sovereign plan and we continue to lean on Him for guidance. Here is a picture of our puzzle and the pieces we have sold so far. The brown pieces on the bottom are the ones that have been sold and already have names written on them. The pieces on the top are still waiting to be bought! Please spread the word about our fundraiser, and also about our adoption journey. We continue to pray that God will use Asher's sweet little life and our journey to him, to reach others.
THANK YOU for supporting us in our journey to Asher!
