Are you ready for some FOOTBALL!?!?

A few months ago one of my friends came and spoke at our MOPS meeting and told us about the "theme night" suppers that she does for her family.  I was so inspired...this was something relatively easy and cheap that I could do for our family.  Well, it's now February and have we had a theme supper yet?  Nope~at least not until last night!  :)  I chose the theme of football (b/c there seems to be a pretty big game coming up tomorrow night) and called my super-inspiring friend to see if I could borrow her football themed items! 
I was going to surprise the kids (& Wade) but then decided to have Kayda help me since this is TOTALLY her kind of thing.  She quickly got out her art supplies and we made a sign welcoming Wade to Football Night and football name cards so everyone knew where to sit.   Kayda went out to the garage and found every football she could find and we set those out around the dining room.  So fun!!!  We got our food ready (which didn't really have anything to do with football) and then it was time to eat!  Elliot came up and said "is it someone's birthday, Mom?"  Chloe right away asked "why do we have that big napkin thing on the table?" (the big napkin was really a table cloth~you can tell we use those a LOT in our house!)  :) 

To finish out our football-themed night we watched the movie The Blind Side (making sure to fast forward the few not-so-kid-friendly-parts). 

I'd say our football night was a success!   The food was yummy, the kids had FUN, and, in true trying-to-get-debt-free fashion we spent a grand total of $0.00 extra dollars out of our monthly budget!  :)  I think we have many more theme nights in our family's future!
